Prelude to everything that is
that was or
will be, prelude
to every thing under the sun or into the sea
or in the miriad of sites
between them or beneath, or aside
of here, where I am,
prelude to everything that will dance and fly and
cry their psalms
or
bite their curses
prelude to everything in
this
world, who prepare to live
to love and who prepare to die
prelude to everything in every thing
that could be,
like a red carpet
sorrounded by flashes
and smiles and restless expectant bodies,
and shining and lukewarm,
tepid,
cars and buildings and countries, and
stellar replays on all channels in the whole universe:
prelude to everything with all that could be,
with all that is,
a perfect miracle,
a topmost, outstanding poem by itself.
